The Sugar Maple Tree (latin: Acer saccharum) is a brilliant contestant in the fall colours showdown – its bright green leaves shifting to vivid yellows, oranges, and reds.
It is best known for being the source for maple syrup – though if you have a tree of your own that you tap in the winter, I highly recommend using the sap as water in your tea for an excellent depth of flavour.
