In early 2020, Phaedra contacted me requesting to make some moss (and lichen) pendants for a few of herself and a few fellow environmental scientist friends as gifts.

First was the Ptilium crista-castrensis, or Feathermoss.

Feathermoss forms as a tiny forest of limbs; with its delicate branches looking mildly feather-like. It grows in the Boreal forests of Canada.

“Absolutely beautiful! You did a fantastic job capturing their likeness. I love it so much!”

From there she requested a liverwort, Marchantia.

And the Red Parasol Moss, splachnum rubrus.
