The Quaking Aspen tree (latin: Populus tremuloides) is native to North America. He contributes to the vivid autumn colours with leaves of bright yellow. He is the defining species of the Aspen Parkland Biome in the prairies of Canada.
He primarily propagates through root sprouts, forming large colonies of a single organism. One such colony, named Pando, is the heaviest and oldest living organism, occupying over 100 acres, weighing approximately 6 million kilograms, and potentially 80,000 years old!
Also known as poplar, the Quaking Aspen symbolizes communication, the wind, endurance, and resurrection.
